Each O-G lesson contains activities to target:

reading at the word-, sentence-, and passage-level
spelling words in isolation and in the context of sentences

Academic Tutoring
Teach and reinforce active learning and study strategies, including active reading, note-taking, memorization, writing, preparing for tests and quizzes, and school-applicable self-advocacy skills
Provide appropriate language-based interventions to improve skills and performance
Analyze and explain the results of educational neuropsychological reports to families and their students
Work with families to explore appropriate educational settings based on the student's learning profile and social-emotional needs
Assist in planning curriculum and/or supplementing instruction for periods of home-schooling
Support families during the application process for private schools
Executive Function Coaching
Teach students with executive function weaknesses to develop organizational and time management strategies that can be generalized and used independently at school and in the home
Work with families to integrate organizational and time management strategies into household routines, with the goal of facilitating student independence in completing activities of daily living and academic work

For those applying for admission who have complex learning profiles:
Conduct an extensive review of application materials including cognitive, achievement, and neuropsychological testing;
Provide written recommendations concerning modifications, accommodations, and supports necessary for success, should the student be accepted to the program.
For current students, review educational neuropsychological reports and provide a teacher-friendly written synthesis of findings, appropriate classroom accommodations, and other recommendations for working with the student.
Classroom Observations
Observe teacher and student interactions during classes over a number of school days, with a focus on student engagement, accessibility of lessons, effectiveness of teaching methodology, and utilization of effective classroom and behavior management strategies;
Conduct individual and team meetings to discuss observations, give feedback, and problem-solve specific situations;
Provide individual or team support in implementation of team-generated ideas for changes.
Behavior Management Supports
Assist in the design of an appropriate school- or class-wide behavior management system aligned with students' needs, and the school's mission and culture;
Observe and provide feedback around interactions with particular students who exhibit challenging behavior in the classroom. This may result in suggestions for individual behavior management programs or support;
With administrators and/or teaching teams, review existing behavior management systems and supports; identify strengths, areas in need of improvement, and ways to improve outcomes.
Collaboration for Lesson Planning and Assessment of Learning
Using a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, partner with teachers to develop appropriate andaccessible lessons and assessments for all students in the classroom;
Work with teachers to embed strategies for Metacognition, Study Skills, and Active Reading within their content-area lessons.
